What Was the Ark of the Covenant?
The Ark of the Covenant was the sacred chest made for Israel’s sanctuary. It held the tablets of the covenant, was covered by the mercy seat with cherubim, and stood in the Most Holy Place as a sign of God’s covenant, holiness, and the carefully ordered approach to his presence.
